If you've had occasion to flip the pages of an edition of
INSIDE SELF STORAGE magazine, you have undoubtedly
encountered the cartoon "Adventures In Storage" around
page ten or twelve of the publication. The original strip,
which has appeared monthly in ISS for over two years, is
the creation of self-storage professional John Roser, South
Texas regional manager for
AAA Storage and founder of
USA Storage Resource. The cartoon provides a whimsical
look at the Self-Storage Industry as seen through the eyes
of the self-proclaimed "Wise-Guy" of self storage. "I never
really got over my high-school role of class clown," says
John. "Not long after I began my career in storage, I
revived my sophomoric cartooning talent by faxing hastily
sketched comic commentaries to the main office along
with the monthly site reports. A couple of them ended up
in the company newsletter, and David Luce, AAA Storage
Operations Manager, encouraged me to contact an industry
publication for consideration. My first inquiry was to the
folks at
INSIDE SELF STORAGE, who were happy to
include the cartoon as a regular feature beginning in
January of 2007."  ADVENTURES IN STORAGE has since
been featured in several self-storage marketing
campaigns, as is now available exclusively through this
website for use in facility marketing and promotional
programs. Contact John at 361-331-1786 for details.

"I sorry, but I can't make an exception,
even if you are a holiday icon..."
"Every year, as the Thanksgiving
holiday rolls around,  my thoughts
turn to the plight of the poor turkey,
and I imagine a bird in my rental
office in a desperate bid to rent a
unit for a few days to avoid landing
on a platter. Most lease documents
explicitly prohibit live animal
storage, but for this little guy, I
might think twice before turning
him out onto the street."
